Teachings from Jesus Were Simple and Pure
The Following is a Trance by Betty Bethards That Was Recorded at Asilomar on June 7, 1986
The things that were taught by the Master Jesus were things that were simple and pure. These were the teachings that he had learned from his teachers. He went forth throughout the land, studying and training in order to be Jesus the Christ, which he was so called. Jesus of Nazareth spent many years researching, meditating, taking the best tools from all religions and putting them together into a very powerful yet very simplistic belief system.
The term religion means to bind back, to bring together. The teachings which Jesus taught included reincarnation from the very beginning. For he was a student of life who knew that reincarnation existed for all time. Jesus himself was in his 33rd incarnation at the time that he incarnated as Jesus the Christ.
There is no way that any one person can come forth upon the earth plane and teach the mystical teachings the way he did in one lifetime. Life is forever. You have always been; there is never going to be a time you will not be.
The earth plane tests are the most difficult because you see yourself as separate from the Father. The thing that Jesus taught was that God the Father is within me. He also meant God the Father is within you. You, too, are the sons and daughters of God. He is not the only son of God. The God is always within man, whether he is in or out of the body.
The thing you begin to understand as you meditate, as you pray, as you begin to perceive the simplicity of life, is that you don’t have to compete; you don’t ever need to compare yourself with one another. Each of you is on his own journey and each must pay attention to his or her own lessons and not dwell on other people’s lessons. If you can walk the pathway together through life – how exciting, how wonderful and how joyful it will be. But if the other’s path turns off and goes another direction, it does not mean that his path is wrong nor that yours is wrong.
All the teachings of Christianity were built on the basis that God is love. The only two commandments, the only two things that you need to live by and to sit at the feet of God is to:
- Do onto others as you would have them do onto you
- Love thy neighbor as thyself
This is all that Jesus emphasized. This is so simple, it is so easy. His death was chosen in order to make man aware that life does go on; that there is no beginning, there is no end. It is in this small way of looking at the whole picture that this is it. If this is the only life you ever lived, how sad God would be, for you have not begun to see the greatness, the power and the glory that lies within each of you.
By working together – with the knowledge, the skills, the tools – that Jesus gave, Jesus was hoping that through his death, he would be showing you the importance that life does not end, that it is only the beginning, that it is a transition from one plane to another and that the life out of the body to us is far more real than your life in the body is to you.
You scatter your energies and clutter your thoughts with your fears, your anxieties and your worries. Life is an illusion, my children. This has nothing to do with who you are and what you came back to do. Jesus’ greatest gift was to come back and to manifest in solid form to show you that life goes on. He did not mean to show that he was dying for your sins, for no man can take over another’s karma. Jesus did not teach that ever. He said very clearly from the very beginning, that as you sew, so shall you reap. How could someone else do this for you?
Your life is your opportunity, it is a pleasure, it should be a joy to see these lessons, to work them through, to greet adversity with laughter, with humor, with praise that God loves you enough to allow you the privilege of going in and falling down once again to learn very basic, simple truths.
Jesus never intended for people to see him as the only son. He was the greatest mystic that you have ever known on the earth plane. You will find other Masters, the other teachers – Buddha, Mohammed – all of those who performed great miracles, who did things above the average man – they were all channels of God. Each of you is an instrument of God. No one is lesser than another. Only in your own eyes do you see one as greater or one as lesser. Christianity did not worship what Jesus taught. They took forth the message that he had – editing it in the Bible – to be what they chose for man to hear, just as your paper, your government and all governments edit what they want you to hear and what they don’t want you to hear (and kept from you). Times were no different then, my children, than they are now. Some of the truths were left in, others were left out.
He, as a Master, loved all of you more than you will ever love yourselves. For any true teacher, yourselves included, as you manifest to this degree where you can truly love one another, putting all peoples’ desires above your own and loving them, you are then the saint that the Master Jesus was. His teachings were misinterpreted, they were changed and if you read the Bible with new eyes, you will see that it is in all the symbols. If you hear Jesus’ teachings, the things that he was quoted as saying, these are simple truths. There is nothing difficult in them. All you have to do is live them 24 hours a day. When you have finished what you came here to do, you will be allowed to be released.
This process that you call death is nothing more than what you do every night as you come over to our side to be taught and trained. God loves all of his children so much that there is not one day, not one minute that you are ever alone for he walks with you every step of the way.
He will wait while you stop and suffer, yet he will become excited when you work on things and you catch the insight of the lesson. Great rejoicing then is in the Heavens as each of you manifest your own divinity from within. You will realize there are many things that are taught, many truths out there that are presented as truths that are not. This is why, through dreams, through meditation and through affirmations and visualizations all truths will be shown to you. Take what feels right from others and dump what does not. Keep only what the God within you says is right. You will have a feeling in your gut that says, “I know that. I have always known that.” This is the way of bringing the knowledge up to the conscious mind. Use it to then help yourself, as well as your fellow beings, to incorporate the lessons.
Don’t hide behind your own resentments and fears or deny your goals. Denying your goals, or desires, my children, will set you back. You must live to achieve your goals or eliminate that desire or you will be earthbound once again. The choice is yours – you can make it easy and finish this time – for the tools are within all of you if you have the eyes to see and ears to hear, it can be done. If you choose not to look, to keep running away, this is fine; for we will wait and help you the next time you incarnate again. I guarantee you, you will keep this journey going forward until you are ready to release it, to let go and realize that this is all illusion. This lifetime is a wonderful opportunity for personal growth and to tune in and tap into the God within you.
This is a time of great inspiration for the energy has never been higher; the opportunities have never been greater. If you do not learn how to center, if you are not meditating, you’re going to have a very difficult time detaching from all of the craziness and the tragedy that is going on in the world today. It is your responsibility to make time for yourself, to regenerate your energies just as Jesus did his. Go up on the mountain (by meditating), my children, and pray. Bring back that energy and shed your light forth onto the earth plane.
