Understanding how your past thought patterns, or programs, in addition to your current negative, self-defeating thoughts block your desires and dreams for abundance is essential. You can’t program your success in life, hopes and dreams without doing the cleanup work of changing the beliefs inside you that say you are not worthy. This type of thinking is how we prevent our prosperity on all levels.

God has given us the energy and ability to choose our life story but you have to do the work of identifying your self-limiting beliefs. They need to be released and new positive programs need to be created to fill the space back up. Like attracts like; your abundance is a God given birth right but you have to clear the path to receive this bounty. This is a co-creative process. Your job here is as the script writer. If you notice that your story thus far is one of suffering and victimization then it’s time to see what beliefs got set up inside you and they need to be changed.

We all carry around emotional baggage from our pasts. The basic strategies of these past programs are that we are either less than everyone else and we have to constantly try and win others approval or we are greater than everyone else and our job is to shape up everyone else to our higher level of consciousness. Both of these beliefs are untrue. If you believe either of these, then you are stuck in roles that are trying to win love and approval.

This less-than-better comparison is an endless, hopeless struggle.

When we stop and finally learn to see ourselves as we truly are – accessing our positive qualities and strengths and then owning our weaknesses and working to develop ourselves – this is when we can grow and change. This is giving ourselves unconditional love; and it has to be given to ourselves from within. The outward search for unconditional love must end.

When we finally accept ourselves, warts and all, then we can just be who we are with others and stop trying to earn their love. Love is already present. We just have to rest in it, absorb it and accept it. If people don’t like you for who you really are, that’s OK! What you usually find out is that when you dare to love yourself, dare to be honest about who you are, people are drawn to you like a magnet.  This is the “place” we are all searching for – true love for ourselves and love from others.

Changing habits and attitudes requires work. But doing this goes hand-in-hand with creating your overall health and wellbeing. Everything about you is a reflection of your own self love; your mental, physical and emotional state is a mirror to how you love yourself.

Negative attitudes, bad habits and poor thought patterns block the flow of energy through our being. It creates stress, limits our perspective and immobilizes us from acting because of fear.

Fears and hurts block our happiness. The dis-ease you feel when you are along is all of the old programs you need to release and see what lesson or lessons you have been taught. As you do this, you become happier and happier. You no longer have to lead in people to jam the same buttons as before because you have cleared the lesson. You are free to love yourself and others.

Releasing yourself mentally from fear, anxiety and guilt is a prerequisite to gaining more control of mental, emotional and physical processes. It’s necessary to gain confidence in yourself and your abilities in order to trust your intuitive powers. By retraining your mind to develop positive healthy self-images, we affect the success of our relationship, careers, finances and instill in ourselves a sense of well-being.

The truth about fear is that none of them, even if they did happen, have the power to destroy or harm us unless we give our power away to them. The only thing that really is guaranteed in this life is that you will die. Many people live their life fearing death… but guess what… there is no death! So that fear has no basis as well.

We have to redirect our energy to allow love to become our motivation for all of our actions instead of fear. We need to empower our ability to love and release all that is not love. When you shine the light into the darkness will disappear.

Ways to Change Old Fears, Programs and Hurts

  1. Verbalize and share your past and present experiences (good and bad) with family, a friend or a growth-oriented, 12-step program or counseling group.
  2. Keep a diary. Write about your experiences and feelings. Writing will help you to put your feelings into words and you might be surprised with what you have written.
  3. Write a letter to the guardian angel of the person you are having issues with or who is an overwhelming challenge in your life. Describe how you want it to be resolved so that you both “win.”
  4. List in a long column all of the major people who have been in your life – good and bad. Beside their name, put the positive lesson they have taught you.
